About Split PDF
A split tool is the inverse of a merge tool: instead of combining files, it pulls pages out of one PDF and saves them as a new document. The Convertora split tool shows every page of your file as a thumbnail with a checkbox, so you pick exactly the pages you want — a single page, a chapter, or any combination — and extract them into a fresh PDF. Everything happens locally in your browser, so even confidential or oversized documents stay on your machine.
This is essential when you want to share part of a document without sending the whole thing. Email a single page from a 200-page contract instead of attaching the entire file. Pull just the chapter you need from a textbook PDF. Detach a receipt from a bundled bank statement before forwarding it to your accountant.
Because selection is visual, you don't need to know page numbers in advance. Scroll the thumbnail grid, tick the pages you recognize, and extract — no guessing whether the exhibit you need is page 47 or 48.
How to use it
- 1Upload a PDF by dropping it onto the page or clicking to browse (up to 100 MB).
- 2Every page renders as a thumbnail. All pages start selected; click a thumbnail's checkbox to include or exclude it.
- 3Use Select All / Deselect All to flip the whole document at once — deselect everything, then tick just the handful of pages you need.
- 4Click Extract. The selected pages are copied, in their original order, into a new PDF.
- 5Download the result, named after your file with a -split suffix. The original stays untouched on your disk.
Common use cases
- Extracting receipts or invoices from a combined bank statement.
- Pulling an appendix or single chapter out of a long document.
- Splitting a large scan into smaller files that fit under email attachment limits.
- Separating one student's pages from a batch-scanned stack of assignments.
- Isolating the signed signature page from a contract for your records.

Tips
- Deselect All first when you only need a few pages — ticking three boxes is faster than unticking ninety-seven.
- If you need both halves of a document as separate files, extract the first half, then re-upload and extract the second.
100% private — runs in your browser
Convertora processes everything on your device using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Files never leave your browser, are never uploaded to a server, and are never seen by us or anyone else. The moment you close the tab, the data is gone — there is no temporary cloud copy, no log entry, no retained backup.
Because the work happens locally, processing speed depends on your device — but there are no rate limits, no daily caps, and no file size restrictions beyond what your browser can handle in memory. No signup, no account, no payment. The tool works the same in incognito mode, on a corporate network, or after the page has loaded once, even with the network disconnected.
