Can a watermark be removed?

Watermarks added this way are baked into the page content, so they can't be toggled off or deleted in a normal PDF viewer. A determined adversary with editing tools could paint over them page by page, but that's tedious and rarely invisible — which is exactly why watermarks work as a deterrent.

Will the watermark make the text underneath hard to read?

Not at the default settings. At 15% opacity the watermark is plainly visible while the underlying text remains fully readable. Push the slider higher for a bolder stamp, or lower it for something closer to a background tint.

Can I position the watermark in a corner instead of the center?

Not with this tool — the text is always centered on the page, with rotation as the positioning control. For a corner stamp or logo, build a single-page PDF with the mark where you want it and apply it to every page using the Overlay PDF tool.

Can I use an image or logo as the watermark?

Does the watermark appear on every page?

It does not encrypt the file or prevent copying, but it makes the status or sensitivity of a document unambiguously visible on every page — which is often enough to discourage casual redistribution and to stop a draft being mistaken for the final version.
